Neuroscience research is a field in which donations at any level have the potential to make a significant difference. We have built our entire organization to maximize the impact of your dollars:
We keep our administrative costs low and fund them with revenues from special events. This enables the Foundation to put your donations directly into research that matters.
Our Scientific Board evaluates and funds research proposals on the basis of scientific merit and compliance with guidelines set forth by the National Institute of Mental Health. Their mission is to diversify our research investment: They are prohibited from granting a disproportionate percentage of the Foundation's funding to any one researcher or institution in any given year.
Our Board of Directors is entirely independent. Board members receive no compensation. Board members cannot be related to one another and are prohibited from voting to fund any researcher, use any vendor, or hire any employee related to them.
Our financial statements are audited by an independent firm of Certified Public AccountantsO that specializes in nonprofit accounting practices.
We are proud of our disciplined approach to management, and gladly make our financial statements available to donors.
